Denise Nathanson - cello
Denise was born into a musical family and began her cello studies at age 8. She is the former Principal cellist of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and also performed as Associate Principal for the Annapolis Maryland and Roanoke Virginia Symphony Orchestras.
Denise was on the faculty of Hood College (Frederick, Md) as cello instructor. Denise has performed extensively in chamber music groups and as a soloist with orchestras throughout Maryland and Virginia. She has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and
Lincoln Center. She enjoys creating and performing music programs for concerts and special events.
Denise and her husband discovered Key West while on an extended cruise
on their boat and are now pleased to call Key West home. She teaches people of all ages and abilities who have an interest in learning the art of playing the cello. Inquire for rates and availability.
Irie Monte - violin
Irie has been playing violin for over 20 years. She was blessed to have an amazing teacher from a young age when she began studying with Setsuko Nagata in New York. Inspired to pursue a career as a music teacher and performer, Irie went on to study music education at New York University.
While at NYU, Irie performed in many ensembles including chamber ensembles and full symphony orchestras. During her time in New York city, Irie performed regularly with the highly acclaimed New York Repertory Orchestra.
Since graduating from NYU with a Bachelors in Music, Irie has been travelling around the world, teaching, learning and embracing all of life's experiences! In 2015, her travels brought her to Key West where she fell in love with the beautiful island life and community.
